Project Description

Founded in 1921 by legendary Maurice O’Shea: recognised for setting the standard for modern Australian wine making. O’Shea’s “fanatical perfectionism” saw him create Mount Pleasant’s signature style of elegance, balance and exceptional longevity. For 100 years, Mount Pleasant has produced iconic, elegant and expressive wines, championing the fruit and individual character of four vineyard sites. The rare ancestral vines include some of the oldest clone plantings in the country and make the Old Hill vineyard the oldest Pinot Noir vineyard in Australia.

At Mount Pleasant we have always kept an eye on the horizon. A visionary outlook instilled by the founder that helped establish Mount Pleasant as an icon of Australian wine. Today, they are proud to continue that legacy with the start of a new and exciting chapter in their story. Under new ownership, Mount Pleasant is enjoying renewed investment with time, energy and capital going toward ensuring Mount Pleasant offers an experience that is second-to-none. Additional investment in care and sustainable stewardship of the prestigious vineyards, along with updates to the winery buildings and equipment, will ensure spectacular fruit. This coupled with a rejuvenated package signals the proud reintroduction of this Australian icon and a return to its legendary origins.
