TAHBILK

NAGAMBIE LAKES, VIC

Langton’s Classification “Exceptional” 1860 Shiraz 5 Star Winery James Halliday 2011 Australian Wine Companion

Established over 150 years ago in 1860, and owned by the Purbrick family, Tahbilk is one of Australia’s most beautiful and historic wineries, located in the Nagambie Lakes region of central Victoria (120 km north of Melbourne).

Two hundred hectares of vineyards growing on rich and fertile river flats produce French Rhone Valley whites of Marsanne, Viognier and Rosanne. The Rhone reds are Shiraz, Grenache and Mouvedre, as well as traditional varieties, which include Chardonnay, Riesling and Cabernet.

Tahbilk’s award winning wines include the 'exceptional' Langton’s listed '1860 Shiraz' made from vines planted over 150 years ago. These are the oldest vines in the world used for commercial wine production. They epitomise the vision of the Purbrick family to produce wines which are 'multi-layered, fruit driven, well structured and sophisticated.'
