LONGHOP
ADELAIDE PLAINS, SA
WINEMAKER: TIM FREELAND
Longhop is a partnership between Tim Freeland and Domenic Torzi, who have located small parcels of old vine grenache, shiraz and cabernet sauvignon in the Adelaide Plains and Mount Lofty Ranges region in South Australia.
A large portion of the consistently high-quality wines, sold under the Longhop label are exported to an enthusiastic US market. Now, with greater recognition amongst Australian wine writers and critics, the brand is the new rising star in the value for money stakes on the domestic market. The quality of the wines is unmistakable; deeply flavoured they set sail in your mouth and are utterly seductive.
The majority of the wines are traditionally hand made by Freeland and Torzi, using hand-picked fruit, open fermenters, hand-plunged and basket pressed. No fining or filtration is used prior to bottling.
